This is the one page on the site that asks you for anything, and it is optional. Every diagram, drill, lesson and sheet works without it.

One list across sparkytools, bentright.com and fieldcalc.net; this switch is sparkytools' entry. The unsubscribe link in any email takes you off all of it.

Optional. If you're after an apprenticeship or a position, leave your level and how to reach you — we may pass suitable leads your way or reach out ourselves. Only stored for that.
What signing in does
The drills already keep your streaks and your best runs in your own browser, and the apprentice path keeps your ticks the same way. That works fine until you change phones. Signing in — by emailed link, no password to forget — carries those across your devices, along with My tools: the tools, drills and diagrams you pin, the order you put them in, the ones you hide, and any lists you make for a term or a job.
The email list is a separate thing
Ticking the box puts your address on the list; signing in on its own does not. It is one list across our three trade sites, and what it sends is a short heads-up — at most one every two weeks, and only when something fits what you use — with a one-click unsubscribe on every message. Signed in, the switch above turns it on or off for sparkytools at any time.
There is no mailing list right now
I'm not running an email list at the moment, so signing in doesn't sign you up for anything. The only mail sparkytools sends is mail you ask for — the sign-in link, and a results sheet when you tap Email me — and each goes out once.
Looking for work
Once you are signed in there is an optional form here for apprentices and journeypersons who want work: level, ticket, availability and how to reach you. It exists because contractors ask, and because a site full of apprentices is a good place to be asked. Filling it in is your choice, it is stored for that purpose only, and it comes out again on request.
Your data
What is stored, why it is stored and how to have it deleted is set out in full in the privacy note. The short version: your address, a session cookie, the synced data above, a coarse first-party count of which tools get opened, and — only if you fill it in — the work form. All of it is first-party, on this site's own domain. If any of that ever changes, the privacy note changes with it — that is the point of having one.
