Journeyman electrician practice exam

What you’ll learn

  • Where you are solid and where you are not, topic by topic, across first year to journeyman.
  • The reasoning behind every answer — each question explains itself, and links the lesson it came from.
  • How to use a practice bank properly: random sets, then drill only the ones you got wrong until they are gone.

Pick a year or a topic, answer a random set, read the explanation on every miss — then press “Drill the ones I got wrong” until that list is empty. The bank pulls every quiz question from the third-year, fourth-year and refresher lessons, plus a set of first- and second-year fundamentals. Nothing here asks you to recall a code-book table: those questions are open-book on the day, and the skill they test is finding the answer, not remembering it.

    Questions people ask

    Are these real exam questions?

No. They are written for this site to test the same things the certificate and licensing exams test — concepts, arithmetic, method and safety — so that when you meet the real questions the thinking is already familiar. Nobody may publish the real ones.

Why are there no code-book questions?

Because the code book is open on the exam and the table values change every cycle and between Canada and the US. Memorising them is the wrong skill; finding them fast is the right one, and that is practised with the book itself. The code-book navigation lesson shows how.

    Is my progress saved?

Yes, in this browser on this device — which questions you answered and whether you got them right. Sign in (optional) and it follows you to your other devices. Clear it any time with the button above the questions.
